Nursery 2020-21 - Closed

• Closing Date: 22nd March 2020

• Offer Date: The offer date for your child will depend upon the term in which they begin Nursery.

• September starters : 25 May 2020

• January starters: 25th October 2020

• April starters: 25th January 2021


Secondary 2021

Pupils transferring from Primary to Secondary Education in September 2021 (Children born between 01/09/2000 - 31/08/2010)

Opening Date: 25th September 2020

Closing Date: 27th November 2020

Offer Date: 1st March 2021


St Richard Gwyn to participate in Co-ordinated Admissions Arrangements Pilot Scheme

Following the introduction of a pilot scheme for co-ordinated admission arrangements for the transfer from primary to Secondary education September 2021, the governing body of St Richard Gwyn R.C High School have agreed to participate in the scheme.

In addition to Vale of Glamorgan Community Schools you can now also apply for a place in St Richard Gwyn R.C High School by using the online application service as detailed above. Please ensure that you have read and clearly understood the admission criteria for the school that you are applying for.


Reception 2021

Pupils transferring from Nursery to Primary Education in September 2021 (Children born between 01/09/2016 - 31/08/2017)

Opening Date: 6th November 2020

Closing Date: 15th January 2021

Offer Date: 16th April 2021


Co-ordinated Admissions Arrangements Pilot Scheme

Following a consultation to introduce a pilot scheme for co-ordinated admission arrangements for the Reception age group for the 2019-20 academic year, the governing bodies of Llansannor C.W Primary, St Andrew’s Major C.W Primary, St Bride’s Major C.W Primary, St David’s C.W Primary and Wick & Marcross C.W Primary agreed to participate in the scheme. Following the successful completion of the scheme these schools have agreed to continue the pilot for the 2020-21 academic year Reception process.

In addition to Vale of Glamorgan Community Schools you can now also apply for places in these schools by using the online application service as detailed above. Please ensure that you have read and clearly understood the admission criteria for each school that you are applying for.


You cannot use the online application service to make applications for In-Year School Transfers. Please contact us or view the Schools Admissions pages of the Vale of Glamorgan Council website for further information.

You cannot use the online application service to make applications for a Special Needs School. Please contact our Achievement for All Team for further information on the process - TEL: 01446 700111

You cannot use the online application service to make applications for Voluntary Aided or Faith Schools, applications for these schools must be made directly with the school itself.

These include:

  • All Saints C.W Primary School

  • Pendoylan C.W Primary School

  • St Helens R.C Primary School

  • St Josephs R.C Primary School

and

  • Stanwell Comprehensive School

  • St Richard Gwyn Catholic Comprehensive School


Please Note: Applications MUST be submitted by the closing date as detailed above. Applications received after this date must be submitted on paper and will be classed as late, which may disadvantage your application.
